Doctors & Staff

Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Vision Source Memorial the leading provider of vision care products and services in Houston.

Dr. Anamika Desai

Dr. Anamika Desai is a native of Houston, Texas, a graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry, and has been in practice since 2005. While Dr. Desai enjoys seeing a wide range of patients, she has a particular interest in treating glaucoma, co-managing LASIK patients, Pterygium Surgery, CAT surgery management, dry eyes, and allergic conjunctivitis.

As a child, Dr. Desai’s mother was an RN in Ophthalmology and told her the most amazing stories. As Dr. Desai grew up, she realized, “I want to do that some day!”

Dr. Desai remembers having a patient in optometry school that she diagnosed as having a brain tumor.  The patient had been seen and followed at her optometry school for many years, but Dr. Desai was the doctor who found the correlation between the patient’s field loss in his vision that made Dr. Desai order an MRI and had the patient referred out to see a neurosurgeon.  He was a taxi driver and had a wife and 3 children who counted on him.  In the end, the patient was incredibly grateful to Dr. Desai for helping him out and said he would never forget what she had done.  Dr. Desai carries this story in her heart as she works with all of her patients at Vision Source Memorial.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Desai enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 boys going to the park, walks, playing games, and just plain hanging out with family.  They also love travelling, especially going on cruises!

Dr. Desai is also an avid cook and reader.
